Countdown to Start Date
Patricia Field ARTFASHION
«Fashion has changed» and only the pioneers of the industry can survive in the new world order. Fashion needed a comeback to its roots and to draw
inspiration from world of music and art, so it would once more be current, substantial, innovative and original. And then Patricia Field created the Art Fashion project and took the world by storm. Her project was praised by fashion media from Vogue and Elle to Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle.
Throughout the past year it has been presented in the biggest fashion and
art events around the world, from NY Fashion Week to Berlin Fashion Week and Art Basel Miami, and has been featured in the most influential retail
megabrands from Luisa Via Roma to Dover Street Market NY and Bergford
Goodman NYC. Naturally, the clothes Pat and her collaborating artists created have been loved by celebrities such as Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Katy Perry to Lady Gaga, Nicky Minaj and many others, who have worn them on stage to create iconic looks.
And now for the very first time Pat decided to work on a capsule collection for the Art Fashion project with her long time friend and embodiment of cool, the greek designer Apostolos Mitropoulos. The dynamic duo created a
collection that features haute couture, unique garments and ready-to-wear pieces that can be found exclusively at the pop up store they started
together inside Apostolos’s boutique in Mykonos.
Apostolos created blank garments in black and white, with distinctive
silhouettes that served as canvas for some of New York’s most prominent and hip artists (Scooter LaForge THESEPINKLIPS, Jody Morlock, Ben
Copperwheat, Kyle Brincefield and Lara Padilla). All the artists customized the clothes according to their aesthetics reinterpreting the idea of greek culture and utterly creating one of kind garments that can only
be described as work of walking and wearable art.
The clothes were first shown as part of the most extravagant fashion/music project in Greece, Madwalk and now, to celebrate the launch of their collection and their pop up store in Mykonos, Patricia and Apostolos will stage the most amazing catwalk and the party at JackieO’ on 19/07. No place could better fit the Art Fashion project party and runway than the world famous, über club, JackieO’ that has been
renowned for its iconic parties and guests. Kenny Carpenter will provide the cool tunes and for the first time Patricia Field, one of the leading ladies in the New York fashion scene, Apostolos Mitropoulos, the creative mind behind the iconic collaboration and all the artists who worked on the collection will be present during the summer fashion party.
It will be a night to remember and the absolute party of the
season that all the fashion lovers need to experience.
Patricia Field is a native New Yorker and one of fashion's greatest visionaries whose multi-faceted career has spanned more than 5 decades. Field changed the way women dress through the HBO series "Sex and the City", arguably the most fashionable show in television history. For SATC Field won an Emmy Award and received five nominations for Best Costume Design, and with the help of a thrift store tutu created one of the most iconic on screen NY fashion moments since Audrey Hepburn donned Givenchy for a stroll past Tiffany’s. Also received an Academy Award nomination for ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, as well as continued recognition for her work on television series such as Ugly Betty, Hope & Faith, and most recently for Darren Star’s hit TV series ‘Younger’. Field is also a seasoned retailer, establishing her eponymous boutique in New York City in 1966, which remained a fashion landmark for 50 years. Her store was a downtown institution, internationally known and frequented by celebrities, stylists, designers, artists, performers, and club-kids. In 2016 Field sold her iconic retail property and launched a new concept, ARTFASHION. Born out of her long personal ties to New York art community legends like Keith Haring and Basquiat, ARTFASHION now sees Field as curator, working with an impressive group of today’s talented visual artists who have applied their unique aesthetics to hand painted one-of-a-kind clothing.
